European Constitution
« on: May 20, 2005, 02:05:44 PM »
On June 1st the Dutch can vote for or against the European Constitution. I don't know if the people can vote in other countries as well, but what would you vote? I'll vote for it cause I'd like to see Europe as one country in the future. It's an utopia, I know, but this would be a step in the right direction.

I did a little quiz that shows if you're for or against it... it shows that I am for it.

What would you vote for?

I think globalisation is like communism. Good in theory, impossible to act out. Means: No. Id vote against it.
Cause I don't care where I belong no more
What we share or not I will ignore
And I won't waste my time fitting in
Cause I don't think contrast is a sin
No, it's not a sin

More than just Europe would be affected by it. People who are in power now would have to step down, and you know they wouldn't want to do that. It all comes down to if you want to wait. The process would take years. Personally, I wouldn't support it.

i think you miss understand the constitution if you just think its globalisation.

i'm voting against it, there very little chance the biritish people will vote for it. its 70% aginst 30% for in the polls here, the reason i'm againmst it and growing mroe anti eu is its corrupt, too beurocratic, and innefficent. All this stuff latley about scaping our opt out of the 48 hour maximum working week , what a load of bollocks if we're gonna stay competitive we can't have such strict and rigid labour laws it dissasterous for the economy especially in the long run, the whole socialist / welfare states of old europe are in a bad at the mo, and the eurocrats with their red tape make stupid laws restricting our economies.

I would favour a free trade block without all the bull shit from brussels, scrap the CAP so we not paying for a food 2 or 3 times over and third world farmers can make a living, kick all the french and spannish fishing boats out of our waters because they're being over fished, they did it in spain so they all just come over here now it takes the piss. and a big fuck you to the likes of jaques chirac whose got a hard on for blair, he corrupt, arogant and just a twat basically and theres no way were giving up our rebate  especially not when french farmers earn so much money out of the cap, but since we let the soviets in france has started putting more money into the eu than it recieves so there getting their knickers in a twist. gerhard schoeder is just his bitch, and should not forget germany is just our biggest military base and he should respect our authoritai!

iraq would just get annexed by iran

That would be a great solution.  If Iran and the majority of Iraqi's are pleased with it, then why shouldn't they do it?

How is countries doing more and more shit together and having more and more laws in common and having no borders etc etc not a form of globalisation? I can give a fuck what exactly the constitution is about, what matters is that it should bring europe more and more together until it is almost one country and I really dont want that.

the EU was set up to try and be a trade partnership for equal and fair trade across europe...

now its trying to take over and involve itself in things that arent its business and weren't in its original mandate.

weak countries like spain are propped up by the EU

i hear france is like to vote against this...

seems govt's are falling over themselves to put a pro-EU agenda... but why!?

the Euro has done bad for european economies.. england as always is better off isolated from all this
