mIRC question?!!

On IRC can you dwonload music from other users or only the bots? Ive been in #westcoatconnection a couple of times and can see that other people are in there but nothing happens, is this room different than #hiphopmp3?

Sometimes when I try and download an album the bot says "set your client to recieve," then it says "timeout in 90 seconds or some shit" wtf does that mean?

yea they are different, you might want to try #nuttermp3z, this channel has a lot of shit.. and #rapmp3z.. i had the same problem you had but i forgot whut i had to do to get rid of it.. probably somebody else will be able to help you

You can download from BOTS & F Serves
F Serves is when people set their  machine up to serve files.
To see if theres a F Serve in a channel, type this: !list
Then you will see the TRIGGERS for the F Serves.

My own F Serve looks like this:

If you write one of these triggers, you'll be taken to a chat which works the same way as MS-DOS.
Accepted commands are: cd, ls, dir, read, get, stats, who, sends, queues, clr_queues, terms

These commands is easy to learn, as you most often only use CD, DIR, GET, QUEUES & SENDS

What up Peoples? Thanks for helping me out with mIRC. I have some questions. I was in #nuttermp3z & had a few problems.I played around with it and was able to get to into the private chat and peeped out the DIR. In the dir i saw the new kurupt shit, so I typed in cd\KURUPT-YOUNG_GOTTI_AGAINST...after I got in I was able to get the tracks,but only one at a time. Can I get em all at once? After I was done with Kurupt, I couldnt get out of the Kurupt  DIR and back to the main. I tried to CD but it wouldnt work ???What does [\*.*] mean?Can I Access the HOT SINGLES and NON NUTTER? And the list on the right hand side of the screen, are those servers too or just people using mIRC?The DIR looked like this:

To go into the Truth Hurts directory e.g. type this:
CD TRUTH_HURTS-TRUTHFULLY_SPEAKING-RETAIL-2002-ESC

To check the content of the directory, type DIR

To get a file type:
GET <File-name>

To go out of the directory, type:
CD..

When you typed CD..  you can now go into the other directories.

If you getting it from BOTS, then you probably know the XDCC commands, such as xdcc list, xdcc send #1, etc.
If you get those errors, check in your OPTIONS

DCC
\/\/
Take away the IGNORE-settings, and choose "Show GET dialog"
Now you set your client to receive the transfer.

Remember to restart mIRC after you have changed the settings, because otherwise it probably wont work.

I downloaded mIRC a couple weeks ago and I can't figure out how to get songs off of it.  I've been reading this thread trying to get an idea.  I can get into one of the channels (#nuttermp3z, #rapmp3z, etc.)---and that's about as far as I can get.  What exactly do I have to do or type to download songs?  Thanks 4 the help.  Peace.
