The best aid is nothing  :)

Best thing for Africa is no outside interference.

Co-sign!!

Most people got it twisted, America is not looking out for Africa's best interests.  The world bank and IMF are not interested in combating world poverity, they give loans to Africa and then charge enormous interest that raises inflation and keeps the continent permanently in debt.

Ya'll should read about the former Malaysian president Muhathir, in the late 90's, Malaysia's economy was known as the Asian tiger, then they were sabatoged when suddenly all Western and Isreali businessman withdrew all their investments at one time.  The country went in to debt, but he was smart enough not to take loans from the IMF and World Bank and now the Malaysian economy has stabalized and is showing solid progress.  Contrast that with how Indonesia dealt with their economic collapse, Indonesia's goverment was somewhat corrupt and they readily acceptly large loans from the IMF and World Bank and now inflation has skyrocketed and they will remain permanently in debt.

That's one of the reasons why Islam forbids charging interest.  In the middle ages when Islam was at it's hieght, they did not engage in interest, and thus, weaker nations were allowed self-determination and the oppurtunity to prosper.  Infact, had the Muslims not gone astray and began dealing in usury (Ribah, or interest) then maybe the Islamic Ottoman Empire would not have collapsed in World War 1.

The easiest way for a country to get free money and reconstruction.... claim that there is oil... the U.S. will be there the next day to "liberate" the people and pump billions of dollars into the country

Hahah LMAO  ;D They'd be talking about spreading democracy.
