Ohio Prison Inmate Killed By Lightning Strike

CHILLICOTHE, Ohio -- A southern Ohio prison inmate is dead, hit by lightning during a prison softball game.

The warden of the state prison in Chillicothe said lightning struck the field outside the prison grounds Wednesday night. In addition to the man killed, five inmates and two prison guards were injured.

The Ohio prison houses close to 2,600 inmates.
