Thought this might be a good idea..


free for home users... www.avast.com decent free anti-virus protection with auto updates etc etc..

free cd ripping software whic extracts to mp3 or wav etc   http://cdexos.sourceforge.net it also gives full control of compression options and over ID3 tag usage.


feel free to add descriptions and links to free software ya'll use..

^^ Install these 3, and you have all the codecs you need, without having to install wacky programs like RealPlayer or QuickTime.  :)
Makes WMP and Winamp able to play all kinds of video.

Light Alloy 3 is my favourite movie player.
And like Masta T said, VLC is also one of the best.

music burning program - Nero
Video player - Windows media player classic

I recommend Avast!. Perfect timing as my Norton subscription expired notso long ago.  ;D.

DPGCK or any1 out there, gotta link for CoolEdit and the patch? Someone suggested SoundForge, I've tried it, but I still prefer CoolEdit 2000.
