how will hip-hop be percieved in 20 years ?
« on: July 10, 2005, 05:27:59 AM »
i dont think hip-hop will die, but iits obvious it will evolve in the next 20 years to something that only merely resembles what we like today...

what will our kids think is embarrasing about our music ? and did the hip-hop industry create another shit-house dress trend like in the 80's ? im talkin about what they wear in the south n shit, bright blue yellow colours etc oversized to the point that 5 people could fit in one suit, with huge chains (i dont like that any of that shit), i think that kind of shit gives hip-hop a bad image...

The image of Hiphop is plain disgusting. Everyone who doesnt really know Hiphop has a right to find it embarrassing, cause the way it is depicted by the media / portrays itself is plain ridiculous, unfortunately.
Cause I don't care where I belong no more
What we share or not I will ignore
And I won't waste my time fitting in
Cause I don't think contrast is a sin
No, it's not a sin

^No.

Anyways, I don't know how it's gonna be, but all I know is that it's gonna be way worse than it is now I mean everything is going to played out, lyrics..type of beats...so I don't know what type of subject matter they are gonna rap about ..

And I agree that hip hop is giving out a bad image but its cause once people hear stuff in the media about these mainstreams rappers talkinga bout sex, drugs, violence their whole mindset of hip-hop is just that...

It will either redeem itself and become a legitimate artform

or most likely blend into the other existing genres and cease to exist.

i hope it does evolve, hiphop died like 7 or 8 years ago now everyone puts out the same old garbage which is why i rarely listen to new hiphop

iraq would just get annexed by iran

That would be a great solution.  If Iran and the majority of Iraqi's are pleased with it, then why shouldn't they do it?

There might be a heavy influx of white artist doing creative goofy new things till the point the hip hop is a boring, tacky genre performed by weird white men, like what happened with jazz. thats why i dont listen to anticon.

Jazz and hip hop may not be a good comparison. Hip Hop is more like a modern day Blues, and if "white people" as you said it can change hip hop like they did the Blues I'd be all for it.

Why? Why on earth would you be ok with that at all? That is probably some of the most ignorant shit I've heard.

The Rolling Stones, Aerosmith, The Allman Brothers, Led Zeppelin, Steppenwolf, Eric Clapton, The Band, The Doors, Black Sabbath, Janis Joplin, etc. all took the blues and kicked it up a notch. Was it better than the music by BB King, Howlin' Wolf, Robert Johnson, John Lee Hooker, Willie Dixon etc, ? That's a matter of taste, but no way was it worse. It was a nice change that lead to a lot of great songs and albums.

I'm not sure where to plave Stevie Ray Vaughn, but he was among the best of both sides.
