Rove & Libby Both Involved in Valirie Plame Leak
« on: July 17, 2005, 07:12:05 PM »
Flashback for those that haven't followed this case.  In 2002 Joe Wilson, wrote an op/ed peice in the NY Times claiming Bush & Co. were misleading the public about Iraq.  Ironically, a little while later, someone in the White House leaked to the press that Wilson's wife was a undercover CIA agent.  I say 'was' since after the leak, she lost her cover, in a sense lost her career.

After the leak her Joe Wilson immediately came out against the administration claiming the leak was payback for his article in the NY Times.  He even went as far as to say he felt it was Karl Rove who leaked his wives name.  So around the 2004 election season, Bush came out hard saying this was a reprehensible act, and telling the country he would fire anyone in his administration that was involved in the leak.  When the press asked the White House about Karl Rove being involved Scott McClellan called the assertion "ridiculous" and said he spoke personally with Rove and could garantee he wasn't involved.  He said claimed it was a simple matter of fact that Rove had nothing to do with this.  When asked if Lewis Libby, a Cheney aide, was involved McClellan gave the same answer: absolutely not.

Well, now we know that not only was Karl Rove invovled in the leak, but so was Lewis Libby.  Who knows if there will be convictions or even indictments, but how many times does the Administration have to get caught in a blatant lie before the bigots feel some sense of embarassment for their support of a corrupt incompetent administration?
