Judge John Roberts

Well, John Roberts is on the Supreme Court. What ya'll think about this? Seeing John Roberts is a devout Republican, but it was expected. What is your view on him? Do you think it was a good, honest, true decision? Or do you think he (the President) was partisan in his decision? Do you have another nominee you would have prefered to see? Give your opinions and reasons.

"General Background. Mr. Roberts, a partner at the D.C. law firm Hogan & Hartson, has long-standing and deep connections to the Republican Party. He is a member of the Republican National Lawyers Association and worked as a political appointee in both the Reagan and Bush I administrations. President George H.W. Bush nominated Mr. Roberts to the D.C. Circuit, but he was considered by some on the Senate Judiciary Committee to be too extreme in his views, and his nomination lapsed. He was nominated by President George W. Bush to the same seat in May 2001." Quoted from Independent Judiciary : http://www.independentjudiciary.com/nominees/nominee.cfm?NomineeID=5

Give everybody a couple weeks... although right now he's apparently dirtless, they'll dig up something to hang over his head, and tell us all that they cannot possibly let this man be a judge, then tie up his confirmation for a year or so.
