Assaults sour Poland-Russia ties
Poland's ambassador to Russia has protested over assaults on two Polish diplomats in Moscow.
Ambassador Stefan Meller complained to the Russian foreign ministry following an attack on Wednesday on Marek Rzeszuta, an embassy second secretary.

He and an earlier victim, Andrzej Uryadko, are still in hospital. Polish embassy sources said they suspected a political motive behind the assaults.

Three children of Russian diplomats were mugged in Warsaw on 31 July.

Russia expressed outrage over the incident, in which the teenagers were reportedly attacked by 15 youths shouting anti-Russian slogans.

The Russian foreign ministry accused Polish politicians of stirring anti-Russian feeling in the country.

On Thursday, Russia expressed "deep regret" over the assaults on Polish diplomats.

A Polish diplomat in Moscow, quoted by the Russian news agency RIA, said the same gang was suspected in both assaults and "we don't consider that all this was the work of hooligans".

On Wednesday, Polish Foreign Minister Adam Rotfeld warned that relations with Russia were getting "worse and worse".

Mr Meller has advised embassy staff to limit trips outside the mission's premises, the AFP news agency reports.

iraq would just get annexed by iran

That would be a great solution.  If Iran and the majority of Iraqi's are pleased with it, then why shouldn't they do it?
