I think that the word itself has trascended its original derogatory meaning - in the hiphop world. I may use it here and there, but never abuse it.

I've heard a lot of people say the word. Obviously it comes from hip hop fans, which includes armenians, asians, latinos, etc.

my usual nickname is nigga, everybody calls me that way, LOL one day a homie was yelling in front of my house to get out "Nigga, Nigga" and my moms who was at the door, woke me up sayin "Nigga, someone is looking for you" 

but i'm white as the snow   and the n word doesn't have the same racist meaning nowadays eventhough it gets upset the elders because they lived those real racist times..nowadays everyone wants to bite that hip hop slang
