i say nigga my self occasionally. But, I dob't do it on purpose. I Grew up around that. I Always had black friends, I always grew up in the hood so when i say it, i'm not trying to be cool. It just comes out sometimes. I've never said it in a derogatory way or nothing like that, but i might be chillin and shit and tell my friends something like "A Niggas hungrier than a mutherfucker". But that's a quote from Menace II Society which i saw when i was like 8.

And I'm Mexican, Not White, but if you grew up like me in a surrounding where that's what you know, and you feel comfortable than that's just who you are. If you say it to fit in or be cool. then that's when it's wrong. IMO.

I think since blacks have taken ownership of the word by calling each other Niggers all the time, that it's desensitized the word.  Nigger used to mean "I own you as property and if you look at me wrong, I'll kill you, Nigger"... now it means "black person".  Nearly every black male calls other black males Niggers, so I guess they feel it's  o.k. to say that about each other.  Seems immature and childish to me, but then again I don't like calling women bitches and hos either, so what the hell do I know.

Fat Joe, Pitbull, B-Real, etc. are Puerto Rican/Cuban. They more than likely have some family members that are Black. They were all raised around Black people, which is why they use the term. They have merit, but for someone who doesn't have Blacks in their ancestory or was not even raised around Blacks to use it IS ridiculous.
