Utrecht defender dies in sleep
Tuesday, 29 November 2005

FC Utrecht defender David di Tommaso died in his sleep on Monday night, the Dutch club have announced.

Fans' favourite
The cause of death is not yet known. The 26-year-old Frenchman was voted player of the season for 2004/05 by Utrecht fans after joining from CS Sedan-Ardennes in 2004, and had appeared in all 13 Eredivisie matches this term. He played in the UEFA Champions League with AS Monaco FC, his first club, in the 2000/01 campaign.
