Yeah, I don't totally understand the award for sales thing, either.  Like you said, why have an award if you already know who's going to win? 

BTW, did anybody see Mariah Carey get bitchy?  I love Mariah Carey, I do.  I'm always taking up for her, but that shit pissed me off.

She got on stage, to accept her awards.  She said she had to thank a bunch of people, so she wrote them down.  She had a palm pilot or something in her hand, with all the names written on it.

She read a bunch of names, and then said something like "And, I've got to say... all the fans who've styled... said... urgh, Whoever wrote this down for me, you're Dense" or something to that effect. 

Can you believe that shit?  Then she laughed and played it off and continued with her heart-felt, pre-written by somebody else thanks.
