"First things first... Move over LL, Take a hike NORE, Bow Down DMX there's some new sheriffs in town. Def Jam Record which is home to the aforementioned stellar artist and many more is making some major moves that'll make your head spin. They are adding a new division to their label called 'Def Jam Classics'. No it will not be a label that release vintage LL Cool J songs. It's a new label that will release music from the classic artist of our time. They have signed two major players to kick this off... Barry White-The mystro of love.. and James Brown the Godfather of Soul. Yep you heard it right Def Jam has signed Barry White and James Brown. Look for a Barry White album to drop sometime in the fall.. No word yet on James Brown..

One thing is for sure, the Def Jam rappers will not have to jump through hoops for James Brown sample clearances now that James is on the rooster. His addition will no doubt help any soundtrack released with his upcoming film which is being directed by Spike Lee. On another note LL will really have to take a backseat to Barry White when it comes to being a 'love magnet'. DMX who is considered one of the hardest working performers in the biz may have to hand over the crown to Brother James."
