Saw a different version of "The Chronic" at Sam Goody....

So ofcourse there's the original Chronic album, and then Deathrow put out the remastered version, which the Dre Day video as a bonus...but when I was in Sam Goody I found one called the "Digi Pack" where it has the cd, but then you turn the cd over in your dvd player and it has like music videos (something like that) and the entire album again, but in dolby 5.1 surround sound (I believe that was the specifications). Has anyone else seen this? Does the album really sound any better in that different quality?

I've seen it too at Tower Records, but for Snoop's Doggystyle.  The Row just keeps on reissuing its catalog.  Haven't heard them though.

Yeah i got this version...only cause i came up on it, its cool, it has all the videos for the singles from the album...the Dolby 5.1 enhancement is cool i got surround sound...for me it was free so its great....
  but i but the remastered version and my "Dre Day" seems a little static-ie, was dissapointed in that, the packaging was cool, the cannibus leaf on the cd looks better, but the video looks shitty

yup, they sell these re-release digipacks over here too. i'm not buying any of them though.

Well, I'd suggest buying those 5.1 Surround Sound versions only if you have a home theatre system. These re-mixed albums do sound better than a normal version.
For example, my brother has bought an album of some metal group 3 years ago and they re-released it as a "DVD Audio" now (which is basically the same as your Digi-pack I assume) and so my brother bought that one. Let me tell you: it was well worth the money. The quality is amazing. But like I said before: it's only worth it if you have a home theatre system, otherwise the 5.1 Surround Sound on the CD is useless...

John Legend's album was also re-released as a "Dual Disc" (= 5.1 Sur. Sound) here in Belgium...I'm thinking of buying it as well and sell my original copy to someone else.
