And you know they'll never stop the furious force of my rhymes

And like they say, God works in a mysterious way
So I pray, remembering the days of my youth
As I prepare to meet my moment of truth"

i don't know if i have a definate top 10 but the albums that stick out in m y mind :

the darkness-one way ticket to hell ...and back

i thought they'd fuck up on their second album, but , in all reality this cd is just as good as their first, just and dan are an awesome guitar duo, just too damn good, and they're getting rock music back to where it needs to be. they have a new bassist on this album, some bald dude, but i think he actually works out better because his bass is more melodic.

korn-see you on the other side

i wasn't impressed with anything korn had been doing since like 98' imean yeah they'd have an album with a couple of good singles on it then the rest was all "Hate this" 'hard core that" "fuck this" "trash that" FILLER ...but they flipped it on this album it's actually sounds like an ALBUM. shit sounds like NIN/Ministry mixed in with a little bit of pink floyd and jethro tull.....what also impressed me was that munky ( the lesser of the two guitar players) did all the guitar parts on this album , since head (the known talent of the group left)....good job

Mariah Carey - the impancipation of mimi

fuck what KIND of music this is , this is fucking GOOD music on this cd. i think what mariah carey fucked up on on here last couple of cd's was she was TRYING to be all hip hop and urban, but fuck that she's a fucking pop/r n b/ soul singer.....probably the best. and on this album she got back to that more, yeah the flaws on this album are the blatent attempts to be hip hop , but the best tracks are where she takes it back to what she is. also i got to give props to Jurmaine Dupri....he's a mighty fine r and b producer, sorrry ass hip hop producer but hey he's the only one i see doing r and b right.

the gorillaz- demon dayz

again ,like the darkness cd i thought this cd was gonna suck, most follow ups usually suck. but this cd is in many ways on par with their first album. i really liked this cd. to prophisize a little bit here i think this is the future of music...i mean all genres will pass in popularity but never die, rap's starting to slide where heavy metal slid, it's in it's "hair metal" stage.....rap as a comercial force will soon fade and i think in it's place we'll have music like the gorillaz that mixes multiple influences . if i'm wrong whatever, but if i'm right, i think people will look back at this album as a template for making popular music.

the white stripes-get behind me satan

i thought this album was horrible at first, very bland and boring, but you listen to it a few times and you look at the cover you relize, that's the way it's suppose to be. it's more about what he's saying rather than the sound, and jack white is a very good song writer , you listen to the first 8 tracks on here and you kinda get caught up in his words like a good movie like "citizen kane' or somethin.

the game -the documentary

probably one of the more listenable ALBUMS from hip hop. yeah there's late registration, the most known unknowns, be, ect. that most hip hop fans will latch on to, but i got to say for me , this albuym was far more listenable. you got all the killer dre tracks....but take them away, and you got a beatiful songs still left, like the mary j blidge song, the buster rhymes song, faith evans song, ect.  it didn't bore me witht all the USUAL topics in a 50 cent album, it actually had some depth

The Decemberists - Picaresque

How is that one? I'm mean obviously you found it a highlight, but how'd you describe their sound as i've heard a lot about that band but have yet to give them a listen.

Mine's not a top 10 or an ordered list just albums that come straight to mind as highlights;

The White Stripes - Get Behind Me Satan
Oasis - Don't Believe the Truth
Robert Plant & The Strange Sensation - Mighty ReArranger
Common - Be
Oceansize - Everyone Into Position
Wolfmother - Wolfmother
My Morning Jacket - Z
Queens Of The Stone Age - Lullabies To Paralyze
Franz Ferdinand - You Could Have It So Much Better
Gorillaz - Demon Days
Sigur Ros - Takk
Kaiser Chiefs - Employment

I expected more from albums such as In Your Honor and Guero, however with that said they were and still are highly rotated in my cd player and definetly worthy of a mention for '05 highlights. Silent Alarm should probably also get a mention, even if i'm not such a big fan of their live performance.
