Computer problem...
«

I saved these essays on a floppy disc as regular documents. Took them home, opened them and everything seemed in place. But a little while ago I tried to open the files and I get some message "can't read files" or whatever. It won't allow me to open the documents, anyone know what's up?

Try opening the files wit different programs, for example open the files using Notepad instead of Word.

Thanks man. Is it possible though for files to be deleted even if they're saved on a CD or disc?

CD-RW are rewritable & those are the only type of CD's you can delete files from while CD-R is the regular CD where files are saved on & have no option in being deleted.By the way,did my advice work???

Not exactly, I still won't let me open the file, but in any case, I rewrote the whole thing over just to be on the safe side. Thanks anyways homie. As far as floppy discs go, whatever is stored in them stays put or there's a risk of losing data?

I never trust floppy discs thanks to all the trouble they caused me.I could barely get them to work properly (90% of the time) either new or used. But anyways files on floppy discs shouldnt get deleted unless the user himself deletes the files so it should be safe.
