Buffel concedes title to Celtic

Thomas Buffel has admitted second spot in the SPL is Rangers' most realistic goal this season.

Rangers currently lie fourth in the table, behind Hearts and Hibernian.

And with Celtic 17 points clear at the top of the SPL, Buffel believes qualifying for next season's Champions League should be Rangers' priority.

"We must get second place. The fans want to see us in the Champions League next season so I think that has to be the main target," he told Rangers News.

Buffel also believes that Rangers fans still have plenty to look forward to before the end of the season, despite the side's failings in the league.

"We still have so much to play for," he added.

"We still have Europe, we still have the chance of second place, which can provide Champions League football next season and we have the opportunity to win the Scottish Cup.

"So there are many things for us to achieve this season."

As much as it pains me 2nd is the most realistic that we can hope for this season, we've had a shocking season & far too many dodgy results that has cost us a chance of another title win

For us to win the title we would Celtic to collapse approaching the end of the season, and surely that can't happen again, canl it?
