I bet if it had just one more Snoop & Dre song together....and a Hitt track..(maybe even a Ra track)
and this soundtrack would have broken the platinum mark easy....to bad they were rushed into it.

Hatesrats 2002

(Shiit I did my part...I bought 2 copies...on the official drop date...and when I bought the wash movie...on it's official drop date.)

i use to work in a record store and for a soundtrack to sell half a million records is very good, 90% of soundtracks barely pass the 10,000 mark. the only soundtracks that do BIG THANG are ones like Purple Rain (where 1 artist is featured through out an album, like prince) or if everything is precisly calculated with big names , big promotion and/or lots of money behind it , ala moulon rouge sndtrk and Coyote Ugly soundtrack. even classic albus like Murder was the case only go platnum, so for the wash (an obviously rushed and 'ok' album from the westcoast [which is in a comercial slump] with no promotion practically) to sell half a million cd's is pretty damn good

Both Above The Rim and Murder Was the Case soundtracks sold over 2 million...So did The Friday Soundtrack...I don't know gold is somewhat of a dissapointment I'm sure Dre expected this to go at least platinum with Bad Intentions being a pretty big hit...
