LOL, and you're telling me the U.S. doesn't have issues? We have the highest gun homicide rate of all Western nations, and our standard of living ranks fairly low as well. We may not be Third World, but we have comparable problems for a Western nation.

Where do you live? For me growing up, there were more than a few occasions where I was awakened during the night by the sound of 9-mms' being fired in drive-bys. Not everybody's like you and gets to live in a posh suburban neighborhood where gangs and drugs aren't serious problems, ya know? All these years of listening to gangsta rap and you still haven't figured out that America has serious issues with violence? Damn, small wonder nothing ever gets accomplished in this country.

Well, it's easy for you to say that when you're already on that side of the fence, ya know? I've had plenty of friends who went straight after converting to Islam or Christianity, so I have respect for what religion can do. You can laugh all you want, but it did save their lives...they needed God or Allah to redeem themselves. Personally, I did it through college and that worked for me, but different strokes for different folks.

why does everyone type LOL when they butthurt? as for us problems, alright, we got some shit, but its few and far between in small areas and a small demographic makes up most of the crime. and atleast americans recognize our own problems instead of pretending like they dont exist.

Tell that to these fucking NRA bastards and their Republican mouthpieces who have fought just about every gun control law that ever gets proposed in this country. Things have improved since I was a young blood, but this country has a tendency to overlook problems if they don't fit into the agendas of lobbyist groups.

its not this country that overlooks problems, its the mouthpieces who have agendas to fill who ignore them. and unfortunately, they get all the airtime

Generally speaking, tho, this country has taken only timid steps towards gun control. I remember in England, there was ONE incident where some dude shot up a bunch of people with an AK-47, and there was a huge public uproar protesting possession of those guns, and the British government was quick to ban them. In this country, we had numerous incidents of workplace shootings, gang violence, etc. by people using AKs', and the only thing that happened was that Congress passed a law banning flash hiders and bayonet lugs on assault rifle (but the guns were still made without those features)...and more recently, that law expired.
So yeah, I'd say this country overlooks a lot of problems. We have improved, I can't deny that, but for all of America's claims of being so rich and so great, there are still a lot of people living here who would beg to differ. The fact that they've gotta make inner-city violence into a form of degrading music just to get white people's attention is quite sad.
