Police Seek To Question Tony Yayo & Others In Busta Video Shooting
By Nolan Strong

Police are seeking to question G-Unit rapper Tony Yayo in connection with a shooting on a Busta Rhymes video set that left one man dead with a gunshot wound to the back.

While he is not an official suspect, police are seeking to question Yayo about a heated argument that took place on the set of the video, which was being filmed on location in the Greenpoint section of Brooklyn, New York.

Israel Ramirez, 29, was gunned down shortly after midnight on Sunday (Feb. 5), about a half-hour after a group of men were ordered to leave the building after an argument on the set.

He was rushed to Woodhull Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 1:10 a.m. Ramirez was in charge of guarding Busta Rhymes' cache of jewelry, which was being used in the video.

Police are investigating what rappers' entourages were present and if any of the men were connected to the shooting.

Rhymes was shooting a video for his latest single "Touch It (Remix)". The video's cameo appearance list included G-Unit members 50 Cent and Lloyd Banks, DMX, Mary J. Blige, Missy Elliott and other high profile celebrities.

Yayo and Rhymes are labelmates on Interscope Records, home to Dr. Dre's Aftermath Entertainment and 50 Cent's G-Unit Records imprint.

Contradicting earlier reports, Rhymes, Ramirez and others were in front the studio when shots were fired, sending people running for their lives.

The make of the gun used in the shooting has not been confirmed: reports have cited the shots came from an AK47, while others have identified the weapon as a 9mm or a .45. Eight spent shells were also recovered.

Police are scanning video footage to see of the murdered has been captured on tape but have yet to find a suspect or a motive in the shooting.

According to the New York Post, police are having difficulties contacting Busta Rhymes and at least 50 other people that believe were at the scene of the shooting.

heres more on this:

A member of Busta Rhymes' security staff was shot and killed early Sunday morning on the set of the rapper's new video. Israel Ramirez, 29, was shot once in the chest by an unidentified assailant outside a warehouse in the Greenpoint section of Brooklyn, New York, that was being used as the set for the video.

Rhymes and several other people were inside the studio at approximately 12:30 a.m. Sunday morning when a dozen shots rang out, sending people scattering for cover. Ramirez, the father of three, was the only person hit, according to police. He was taken to Woodhull Medical and Mental Health Center and declared dead on arrival.

Among the stars on hand at various times to appear in the video, which was for the remix of Busta's track "Touch It," were Missy Elliott, Mary J. Blige, DMX and boxers Ronald "Winky" Wright and Felix Trinidad.

According to a witness who requested anonymity, the video shoot — where as many as 500 people had gathered, according to police — was already filled with tension due to long-simmering conflicts between some of the rap crews on the set whose members were gathered for cameos. Arguments between some of the rivals had erupted before the shooting took place.

The witness said G-Unit member Tony Yayo was on the set and apparently exchanged insulting words with producer Swizz Beatz and members of the Ruff Ryders camp. "Yayo was talking sh-- to Swizz Beatz, Dee and Waah [Darrin and Joaquin Dean, CEOs of Ruff Ryders Entertainment]," the witness said. "Then Yayo started talking to Busta, saying, 'My bad, I'm not trying to disrespect you. I ain't gonna make it hot.' "

Relations have been tense between the G-Unit and Ruff Ryders artist Jadakiss, as well as Cassidy, who is signed with Beatz's Full Surface label.

The witness said Ramirez was not thought to have been involved with the tensions on the set. He had been hired to handle Rhymes' jewelry for the shoot.

Police impounded a car near the shooting that was hit by gunfire, and recovered a semiautomatic pistol in an empty lot nearby that they suspect had been used in the murder, according to the New York Police Department spokesperson. Police have not announced a suspect or motive in the shooting.

A spokesperson for Interscope Records, Rhymes and Yayo's label, had no comment. Calls to Rhymes' management and attorney for comment were not returned at press time.

Yayo needs to shut his damn mouth or none of this would have happened. Thats unless he didn't shoot him.

I bet no one will say anything. After all, you're not real hip hop if you aid the police in any investigation.  ::)
Being a LAKER is a privilige. Unfortunately some "Lakers" have forgotten that.
