Fans are eagerly anticipating your Aftermath debut. What can you tell us about your album, and how it’s coming along?

Bishop Lamont:
Be patient because it’ll be well worth the wait because we’re doing DETOX and my album simultaneously. It’s like fine wine; ha-ha… it’s going to be crazy! It’s about rebellion, revolution, the positive and negative things in life and organized chaos.


Aftermathmusic.com:
Dr. Dre’s final solo album ‘DETOX’ is easily one of the most anticipated albums of the decade. Have you been fortunate enough to record any vocals for that project?

Bishop Lamont:
Yeah we’ve been working on the intro Record and a few other joints for Dre. We’re just getting started.


Aftermathmusic.com:
How is ‘DETOX’ coming along? Has Dre let you hear some of what he’s done, or is it heavily guarded under lock and key?

Bishop Lamont:
It’s heavily guarded, but at the same time he’ll play some beats for me that he has ideas for. But it’s like area 51 over there, ha-ha."

 I'm not really convinced it will ever come out.  I guess I'll believe it when I see it in the store, but time has shown us that Dre will only put something out if his heart is really into it.  Just look at Hittman's album, Rakim's album, the Ice Cube album on Aftermath, King Tee's album on Aftermath,the NWA reunion album, and so on...I would be thrilled if he decides to put the album out, but I think sometimes he can't decide if he even wants to do another one.  I remember when he was working on Game's album, that verse he used on the original "Where I'm From" was supposed to be his last appearance as a rapper, but then he changed his mind.  I guess we'll all just have to see.

i don't understand what is taking Dre so long. I mean, efil4zaggin, 100 miles and runin, Chronic didnt take this long to put together and they were classics!  That last NWA album was tight as fuck. Why doesnt Dre just get DOC, them Death Row Niggaz and even DJ Yella in the studio to make some beats? 

If Dre is working on Bishops album now, I guess Game's new CD will have to wait? Dre doesn't seem to be too interested in Games new cd now!
