I think it's more a matter of, the hatred for the West already exists, and they're just looking for an excuse to act on it.  So the cartoons may be the trigger of their rage and violent threats, but it's hardly the cause.

Kinda like how you're always looking for an excuse to rail on Muslims because of your thinly veiled hatred for them, and then you claim it's because Islam is somehow against free speech, which makes no sense.

But Muslims are against free speech, and it has nothing to do with the West.

I am sure you have heard of Salman Rushdie, the Iranian author who wrote the controversial book the Stanaic Verses back in the 1980's. Because there were some chapters that Muslims considered blasmphemous, there was a worldwide bounty placed on his head, and he had to go into hiding in the UK. Two people who worked for the publishing company were killed. Also, a couple of years ago the Miss World pageant was in Nigeria and a newspaper published an article saying Mohhamed might have wanted to marry one of the contestants. Well, hundreds of Nigerian Muslims rioted and a bunch of people died.

Clearly, Muslims react with violence to views they don't like, and it has nothing to do with the West as people like Tech have stated on this message board. Muslims are just backwards, violent, and intolerant.
