SAN JOSE, CA, United States (UPI) -- Andy Murray recorded a stunning 2-6, 6-1, 7-6 (7-3) win Sunday over Lleyton Hewitt in the final of the SAP Open tennis tournament at San Jose, Calif.

The un-seeded British SCOTTISH Murray is No. 60 in the latest world rankings while Hewitt previously was 8-0 lifetime in finals against opponents ranked outside the top 50.

The 18-year-old Murray had his serve broken three times in the opening set while Hewitt saved two match points with aces at 4-5 and 5-6 in the third and final set to force a tie-break, which Murray won, 7-3.

'He obviously didn`t serve as well as he can,' Murray said. 'I don`t know if that was because I was returning very well or if he just wasn`t feeling as confident as he normally was.'

It is Murray`s second career victory over a top 10 opponent. He beat Andy Roddick in the semifinals.
