carragher / king = far better centre-halfs that ferdinand   but then again ferdinand is "worth" 30mil  so he will start

I'd personally play Carrick and Carragher over Beckham and Ferdinand. Think that first 11 should be able to cut the mustard in the group stages. Hopefully that will be ample time for Ferdinand to get injured.
