Biggie's debut and Dre's debut are their best, but I agree with you about Pac, Outkast, and Xzibit. All 3 of them definatly surpassed their debuts, as did Tribe Called Quest, Bone, and Gang Starr. Outkast has especially been consistant, as all their albums are classic or near classic and have increased in sales each time out. I still think ATLiens is their best though. Peace.

true dat about biggie and dre's debut being the best. the only reason i mentioned them with the rest was cuz they sold more with their second and it was well loved opposed to being a sophomore flop

i think its because they are young adn filled with energy and also they have about 18 years(depends when they start) to think up all their ryhmes and all the experiences they have had compared to making an album every 2 years

When Jigga's first album came out, noone talked like it was a classic cuz it just copied what everyone else was doing at the time (although he did it better perhaps).  Now, this cd is considered a classic by people who ain't eevn heard it!

I would say a real classic debut would be Soul On Ice by Ras Kass- he wrote that album for 6 years and you can tell!

Wel, Ras never had a deal and was just writing rhymes since he was a young teenager.  He was in jail for a couple years for vehicualr manslaughter and that is when he wrote most o f his album.........but he said himself there are rhymes on his first album he wrote as early as 12!  Crazy shit......
