How to post YouTube video / Downloading & Playing Youtube Movies
CrookedDynasty:
Downloading & Playing Youtube Movies:
OK, I got real fuckin pissed off for not being able to download and keep movies from YouTube to play. So in the midst of my anger....I FOUND A WAY... muahaha.
Ok, you got to do this step by step to make it work. It's a somewhat of a long process, but it DEFINATELY WORKS.
Setup:
01) Go to http://www.wimpyplayer.com/products/wimpy_standalone_flv_player.html and download the flv player for Windows or Mac.
02) Install WinZip (which you can download at www.winzip.com) or WinRar (which you can download at www.rarlab.com) SKIP THIS STEP IF YOU HAVE EITHER PROGRAM ALREADY INSTALLED ON YOUR COMPUTER.
03) Unzip the downloaded file with WinZip or WinRar.
04) A Folder will appear named Wimpy FLV Player. Inside is the program you can play youtube files with.
05) Go to http://www.swfx.org/flv-duration/index.jsp and download the file on the right hand side by clicking on the Windows or Mac button. (Don't worry about the email address field. You don't have to put one down.)
06) Unzip the file with WinZip or WinRar and put it in the Wimpy FLV Player Folder.
Playing YouTube Files:
-Short way-
Go to http://javimoya.com/blog/youtube_en.php , put the link in the first box, and click on Download from YouTube.
-Other way-
I put these instructions in case the link above doesn't work in the future.
01) Go to youtube.com and view your video. Make sure the video is loaded all the way until you see the "Replay Video" and "Share This Video" option.
02) Immediately go to Tools, Internet Options. (Do not go anywhere else with Internet Explorer)
03) Click on the Settings button under Temporarily Internet Files
04) Click on the View Files button
05) The Temporary Internet Files window is going to pop up, so go to View, Details (To show the details of your files)
06) Do you see the Name tab with all the different files underneath? Scroll to the right until you find the Size tab.
07) Click on the Size tab twice or until you see a gray arrow pointing down. This will make the file with the biggest size appear at the top. That file should be the youtube file.
08) Scroll back to the left and look under the Name tab. It should say something like "get_video?" with a bunch of numbers after it.
09) Drag that file to your desktop.
10) Right mouse click on the file and go to Rename
11) Name the file whatever you want but at the end put ".flv" (Don't forget the dot in front of flv)
12) Go to your Wimpy FLV Player folder and double click the Wimpy FLV Player to play the file.
Wimpy FLV Player plays youtube files that are 18 minutes maximum in time length. If you have a file that's longer than 18 minutes, you need to do a few extra steps below.
Playing YouTube Files longer than 18 minutes:
01) Follow the Above Steps 1 - 11 (NOT 12).
02) Go to your Wimpy FLV Player folder and double click the flv-duration program.
03) Go to File, Open File
04) Locate your file and click open.
05) This program will find your file and fix the timecode. It might take a few moments.
06) Once it's done doing its thing a new folder named flvduration will be created in the Wimpy FLV Player folder. (Keep this folder for future conversions.)
07) Go to your Wimpy FLV Player folder and double click the Wimpy FLV Player to play the file. (Make sure you open up the file that's in the flvduration folder)
I'm not a master at any of this so I won't be able to provide you with feedback if you have any questions other than the steps above, but post if it did or didn't work out for you so new solutions can be found.
Hope all this info helped. Peace. 8)
KAIN explains how to post YouTube videos:
You may prop KAIN by clicking this link.
Embed<object width="425" height="350"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/gpZSKn0yWBY"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/gpZSKn0yWBY" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="425" height="350"></embed></object>
^Copy/Past this code from the YouTube page *Embed box*...
The only part you need for Dubcc is the Embed(value), note that the Embed(value) is different from a YouTube URL.
Embed(Value) = http://www.youtube.com/v/gpZSKn0yWBY
URL =
Next, click "Insert Flash" [;;;flash=200,200][/flash]
(I put in the semicolons;;; so you can see the code.)
Standard width/height for YouTube is 425/350.

NEVER quote any1 with a YouTube video in their post especially if it's Autoplay :grumpy:
That wasn't hard.
Teddy Roosevelt:

why go through all that when there is a much easier way? i posted a link where u could dl the videos...
CrookedDynasty:
Yea, I included your link in the process I described above, which is actually very neat and really usefull, but you also need a player to play the movies since it doesn't work with Windows Media Player.
I just thought I'd provide an all in one reference post, which included your link as well, where people can look up not only to download movies but where to get the FLV player to play them as well.
