Why is Pac so overrated?

Because he's dead.

Put it simply, if he were still alive today, 90% of the people who are diehard Pac fans who think he's the GOAT wouldnt think he's the GOAT. A LOT of people became Pac fans after his death. And that's the simple truth.

He was a great rapper, but a simple MC & Lyricist. He can touch people with the message in his words... and that's why the masses feel his music. Therefore, almost everyone loves him.

But i think alot of the people are brainwashed into liking 2Pac. For example, out here in Cali, people are brought up to admire 2Pac. If there's a little kid, and someone's being introduced to 2Pac, they tell that little kid "That's 2Pac. He's the greatest rapper ever." And that's all they believe... they automatically accept someone else's opinion, and make no effort to search for other types of music or genres.

One example is me at school; some dumbass was yelling his head off bout "THUG LIFE MUTHAFUCCA! 2PAC'S THE GREATEST MC EVA!"

And i was like, "Pac's aight, but Rakim's a better MC"

"Well, I've never heard of Rakim, but 2Pac's still better."

What kinda shit is that?
