As for this album, I can't say anything about it as I haven't listened to those tracks yet. I won't be surprised if I do not like them at first, most RBX-tracks need to grow on me.

Yeah I find that wit rbx, but after a while they dope! Im lookin at hearin this album wne it drops.

A few things

RBX is underrated
'The RBX-Files' is underrated
'No Mercy, No Remorse' is somewhat underrated
'Ripp da Game Bloody' is underrated, had it been decently mastered it would have been considered much better.
'The Shining' is too unknown to even attain any status, but is quite a good album.

For those that said he lost his flow, I suggest you listen to 'Not Like It Was', 'Cross The Line','Picasso','Cyber' or 'Gangstanostra'. You might be surprised.

As for this album, I can't say anything about it as I haven't listened to those tracks yet. I won't be surprised if I do not like them at first, most RBX-tracks need to grow on me.

As an aside, I thought 'Pow (Hustle)' wasn't that great.

No Mercy No Remorse is a hell of a banger too as far as Im concerned. The production (Polarbear) is really on point, only thing it needed was better effects (exposive effects in perticular)

that covers shit...

Ever heard that you shouldn't judge a book (or cd) by its cover?
Best example of that is this:

Horribly drawn cover,great content

I was only pointing out covers dont mean shit.

and artwork and the Doggystyle cover don't belong in one sentence. It's plain horrible. That doghouse looks as flat as a coin, the dog looks glued to it and the stupid dogs on top and in the back are plain awful and thats not even considering the absolute bullshit they're saying.

It's really a shame of people are sleeping on X's earlier stuff, so here's a track for the dude who said X cant flow:

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=JSDEI846

X goes concrete hard on that song, with no beat at all!! The song is called "Fighting the Devil".

The song is from his first 1995 release, The RBX Files. The reason why I said this album is a true gem is because it is something far from what I think we will ever hear RBX do again. His muslim affiliation is obvious on this release, as the songs stretch from his "horror-movie style" murder music to deeep, jazzy, brilliantly composed songs that just makes you go  :o when you suddenly hear a clean horn blast over the "Sounds of Reality" track for instance....their are also these also psycidelic skits where a voice just chants "our time is now" which then fades into the next track.....

this album is extremely rewareding for whoever takes to time to really listen through it (7 or 8 of the tracks are closely tied up to what we know RBX for, while the last 12 tracks are full of surprises).

I upped two more tracks from the record for you to check out...the album is availible at Amazon for something as ludacris as $1.49 or something like that, so I would advise you to buy it. You might be surprised.

You're absolutely right on The RBX-Files. It's on an entire different vibe then any westcoast album. A remastered version would be great, because some of the mastering is a little sloppy on the original.

By the way, I think 'A.W.O.L.' (Gregski remix) shits on the original version. Same lyrics, but the beats make a huge difference.
Both showcase RBX's remarkable rhyming pattern a la:

'Dr. Dre! Do you remember you were broke
and the whole rap enterprise thought you was undope?
me and D.O.G and D.O.C. came and replenished your fame like Gatorade
but then, you got thirsty for the money!
and punked and disrespect the three that put you back upon it
now you're talking like your word is gold
wash,flush,fool,put t out to dry
cause you lie..
the way you played your brother Warren G,
you have to check yourself, that's how you talk about...EAZY'

By the way,the hook to that new 'Sunshine' track,as well as the beat, remind me of 'Mom's Are Cryin' and 'Tundra'. I guess I like RBX with a reggae/dancehall flavour. Similar to why I like Rage's 'Microphone Pon Kok' from 'Neccesary Roughness'

Yeah you are right.

Think the line is "and the whole rap industry though you was a joke" though....small correction ;)

So you like the new tracks?? None really stood out to me, dont know if its just me but the newest RBX stuff just dosent quite cut it for me :( loved him on the Doggystyle All-Stars album though...plus I just ordered The Shinning,so Im hoping that will blow my socks off :)

I didn't like The Shining at first but it really grew on me. Most of the tracks are well-produced and well-mastered,except 'Smiling Faces' and 'Street'. Downside is that he recycles a lot on it.

The intro is awesomely dope for what it is. But you'll notice.

I'm not too sure on 'Free' and 'Sunshine' myself. His verse on 'Free' is incredibly lazy, plus its recycled from 'DPG Set'. I might like the complete version better though. It's annoying when a track stops halfway. 'Sunshine' is decent at least, the chorus is dope.

Yeah thats one thing I hate about RBX: he recycles more than NGO's at times. Of course his "I drop bombs like Hiroshima" line is classic, and I didnt mind hearing it on the RBX Files, but he just seems to always press that line in everywhere. And yeah he also recycles other rhymes from time to time, like some rhymes from No Mercy No Remorse are from RBX Files.

thanks for the run down though ;)

Ok, cant wait to hear it then.

Are you guys familiar with X's work on the Doggystyle All-Stars - Welcome To Tha House compilation?? Now that's a good example of some newer dope ass RBX tracks, where the dosent recycle the stuffing out of himself ;D
Check out these tracks in case you havent already ;)
