Godfather I vs. Godfather II

Ive only seen the first and I thought it was great.  However for my Birthday I just got the second and third Godfather movies on dvd and Im pretty stoked to watch them both

These two movies are pretty unique, it's hard for me to view them as two seperate films because once you've seen them, you're thinking about the second movie the whole time you watch the first and thinking about the first the whole time you watch the second... it's really just half of a really long movie to me, I can't really say one's better than the other, Pacino and Brando were two incredible actors, and the two parts were very different, so it's hard to compare the two.  I cannot pick a better, although you may be able to give a slight edge to the first, since it WAS first, and since Brando is no longer with us.  Based solely on quality though I can't pick one over the other. 

The third wasn't half as good as either of the others, imho.
