^ no man this year the Azzurri have a whole different mind frame. Watch them play a more balanced soccer and make good use of their Tottis, Cassanos, and Del Pieros rather than having a defence first attitude to every match

True that, but in Italy it's going on the greatest scandal in recent football history, and the team is distracted by those events. Lippi is a very good manager and in the pre-tournament friendlies they've done good things (they scored 3 times in Holland and 4 times in Germany, against elite teams), but Totti is totally out of condition (he's coming from an injury) and he's the key player. I don't know. We can advance easy or we can implode and collapse because of psicological reasons.

Drogba is with Ivory Coast no?

Yep.

but Ghana have a very strong side.

Sulley Muntari of Udinese is a very strong midfield player, and don't forget ex-Parma and Juventus central midfielder Stephan Appiah.
that's a very competitive midfield when you add Michael Essien to the mixer, and Samuel Kuffour at central defence.

dunt forget samuel kuffor...he's a good experienced physically strong defender.....

i didnt forget Kuffour, read closer  ::).

Rino Gattuso will miss the first game definitely, and maybe the second- De Rossi will stand in for him.

BEST STARTING 11 WITH PLAYERS FROM THIS GROUP, IMO.

Cech
Zambrotta, Ujfalusi, Cannavaro, Jankulovski
Camoranesi, Essien, Totti, Nedved
Rosicky, Toni

Buffon
Zambrotta, Ujfalusi, Cannavaro, Jankulovski
Camoranesi, Totti, Nedved, Beasley
Gilardino, Toni

Beasley is a beast on the flanks...the italian strikers are without a doubt the best in the group

peace

Anyway watch out for Pavel Nedved, man. He's ready for the competition, and he'll probably retire if Juventus will go to Serie B, so this one will be his last opportunity to do well in an international competition. I expect him to be on the Top11 of the whole competition, man. He's a true warrior.

Anyway Italy's team will have a lot of injured/out of condition players: Del Piero, Totti, Gattuso, Nesta and Zambrotta are all out for at least a game. 5 starters.
