Mike Elizondo To Work On Sheryl Crow's Next Album
« on: January 28, 2002, 10:43:42 AM »
I read an article that "Dr. Dre's longtime bassist" Mike Elizondo will be a producer on the new Sheryl Crow album.

Just thought you guys might want to know.  I'll have to check that out to see what his style is apart from working with Dre.

Every producer Dre have worked with, has got that "Dre-sound" in them, maybe except Eminem.
Look at 'um: Scott Storch, Mel-Man, Fred Wreck, J.D., Meech Wells, etc. I ain't sayin these catz aint creative, but they all seem to use some of that signature "Dre-sound" from time to time. And that's a good thang.

Mike Elizondo going pop?

Stop the bullshit.  He is just gettin into producing for other acts, he co-produced 3 songs with Dre, besides that he was his bass player.

In an interview Mike said that Dre will help him launch his own label soon, where he will be producing many acts including rock.

Ain't Sheryl Crow a pop-artist? Don't ask me, I'm just a hiphop-head.

She is just a rock artist who hasn't been very popular as of late.  Her music isn't anything I would consider "pop."

LoL, the word "just" wasn't supposed to come out the way you said it.  I know Mike Elizondo could prolly do some solo production for those cats too, but he is very under control with Dre, and we don't know his style yet as a producer.  All we know is he plays one funky bass!  When he will work with Sheryl Crow, I bet he won't be making a beat!  He'll prolly play his bass, do some keys, and guide her in the direction he wants.  One
