New Orleans?

Anyone here from New Orleans?  I've been down before and was thinking of trying to go again since it would be tight to get some $$ into the economy and I'd also like to see the city first hand.  I have some buddies down there that say that tourist areas are back up and running - anyone from there or been there want to sound off?

no i have never been there but i did meet this girl, that came to live over here from there after the hurricane, she said she only got a couple of things from her place, and 1 pair of cloths and 1 pair of shoes. she went back there a few months ago.

Man that's rough - I can't imagine losing my entire life like that.  There's a ton of cool shit down there - Mardi Gras, Jazz Fest, Cajun food festivals... I know MG and JF went really well this year, I'd love to get down there for some Gumbo, etc.  Lots of good stuff to rebuild on.
