Jarosik signs for Celtic.....
« on: June 20, 2006, 04:27:35 PM »
Celtic today announced the signing of Czech Republic international Jiri Jarosik on a three year contract for a fee believed to be in the region of 1.5m pounds.

Jarosik, an accomplished midfielder with proven European experience, first came to prominence for Scottish viewers when he was part of the CSKA Moscow team who knocked Rangers out of the Champions League qualifiers two years ago and would eventually go on to win the UEFA Cup.

Asked about his thoughts on joining the Bhoys Jiri commented:

"It is a tremendous honour to sign for a club of Celtic’s size and stature. It is a fantastic time to be joining Celtic, with the club again Scottish Champions after doing so well last season and also with so much to look forward to in the Champions League."

Jiri should also be joined by fellow Czech, left back Michel Kadlec later this week.

28 year old Jarosik is an excellent player and just the type we should be signing if our aim next season is to not only retain the SPL but also make a significant impact on the Champions League Group stages.

With Jarosik, Nakamura and Maloney all lined up and substantial talk that Thomas Gravesen has been earmarked for one of the central roles it looks like exciting times ahead of the Celtic.

ETims would like to welcome Jiri to Celtic Park and congratulate Gordon Strachan and Peter Lawwell for signing such an accomplished player.

Also Evander Sno has signed from Feyenoord. What do the Dutch people think of him?
