ok this is just me posting when im bored. does anyone go to this site? it seems like every review i read from the members is terrible (on their forums). They have their cream of the crop thing and there critic review etc etc. I just want to know if any of you agree with them. i mean sure not every movie is fantastic but it seems as if they rate movies in the 40%'s A LOT. just seems like nothing pleases them. anyways enough of my bored ranting. 

PS: and if i went by their ratings it seems like i would never go out to the movie theaters.

Fuck critics...Critics usually have shitty opinions. Especially Rotten Tomatoes, that site is very harsh...I mean, I'll check it out to see how a movies reviews did, but never to decide whether or not I'm going to actually watch a movie...PeACe

Yea. I wouldn´t let a review influence my decision. I hardly go to the movies. Man last movie I saw was Sin City.  If I hear about a movie that makes me curious then I´m going. Just to find out if the movie is trash or not. But that doesn´t happen often. Anyway... just cause they are critics doesn´t mean that they have a great taste. 99% of mainstream´s movies are pure crap in my opinion, so I don´t watch them, but I enjoy more unknown movies... from time to time... not those big Hollywood productions.. Now I talked to a person who thought that Star Wars Episode 2 was the movie of the millenium and shit and basically preyed every day to god and asked him to look out for George Lucas. lol ...

Whatever... I find it funny to watch a movie and after that I  read the reviews.. it´s nice to see what people like and dislike about a movie...

It's pretty accuruate for most type of movies but I completely ignore these criticis for horror films and comedies.

They get their ratings by collecting the scores of different websites...its not THEM for rate the movies.

i was tlkaing about their forum rankings. you can view their little discussions and see how negative they are.

I don't think I've ever seen a good review on it, but then again when all they get is remakes and romantic shite what can you expect

a lot of the time i just don't care what every reviewer in the world thinks, i'm going to see a movie regardless

Its good to get an overall picture, as it collects reviews from loads of different publications, but I've watched/bought a film based on what I've read on there unless I was already thinking of watching/buying it.

Use IMDB and read the user's comments and reviews...Sites like rottentomatoes only give good grades to movies like "Spider-Man" and "Meet The Parents". Basically movies that "everybody" agrees are great...
