Ottawa was trying to get him for Emery, Havlat and a draft pick

this is a solid trade for the canucks.....bert needed a fresh start and now he's somewhere where he'll rarely play against the canucks. Once they trade Cloutier and Jovo leaves they'll have lots of cap space to replace bertuzzi and give the canucks a solid team next year

even if Luongo doesnt sign, he's still a huge asset....theres a number of teams who are willing to give up more than we did to get him.

For the love of Montreal, I don't want Ottawa to have Luongo  :o :-\ Montreal just signed Huet and we have Aebisher and Richard Zednick as sure trade bait, hope we can at least get Modin or a good forward
