While they hotly debate the best West song ever on the connection, whats the best East coast track? To me it's probably a tie between "The Message" and "Rappers Delight" Why? because who does'nt know the words to these 2 jams from little kids to yo mamma!

Funny, The Message just came on Sirius as I opened this thread. It's pretty much impossible to nail down the greatest east coast song of all time. Both of your picks are arguably the best though. I'll take "The Message" just because it was really the first socially conscious rap record. It wasn't on a party / freestyle tip which is where everything originated in hip hop. Those are both incredible songs that layed the foundation for everything else to spawn from.
