BET Cancels 'Uncut' Television Program

[Stone Cold is Bout It, Bout It]

"BET Uncut," a music video program from Black Entertainment Television, has been canceled after a six year run on the entertainment television network.
The show was discontinued by BET executives, according to sources, and the last episode aired last Friday (July in a finale hosted by rapper/producer Jermaine Dupri.

Infamous for scantily-clad women and sexual themes, "BET Uncut" featured videos from well-known Hip-Hop and R&B artists that were intended for mature
audiences only.

Because of its titillating content, the show was rated TV-MA and had been deemed unsuitable for children under the age of 17.

The show made headlines in 2004 after various African-American women's groups protested because of the portrayal of women when Nelly's "Tip Drill" became a standout video. In the video, Nelly, The St. Lunatics and David Banner indulge in sexual folly with strippers and at the climatic point, Nelly swipes a credit card between a woman's buttocks.

The backlash eventually forced the Nelly to cancel a bone marrow drive on Spelman College, a historically Black women's college in Atlanta.

Fans of "BET Uncut" have already started an online petition to have the show put back on the air.

Good and bad, on the bad side, it looks like BET is almost completley getting rid rap videos.

I used to see some dope shit on there from time to time, and not just ass n titties, but some artists you never seen or heard of. I would say I'm sad to see it go, but I stopped watching years ago so it doesn't phase me.

It was great for ass and titties, also got some no namers some exposure.  Joker the Bailbondsman, Mighty Casey, Black Jesus all had some classic videos on there.  Some of those videos were so low budget, but they were hilarious.  One of my boys made a compilation with a bunch of songs from Uncut.  I think it sucks that its gone cuz like somebody else said, it's getting tougher and tougher to find actual music on tv anymore, especially from people that aren't mainstream.

Joker the bailsbondsman was one of the good points on that show. I wonder why hes not bigger? I love tits and ass but I found that show largely unwatchable. I could'nt sit through 6 or 7 wack vids for 1 good 1. BET sucks anyway. It's 1 of the outlets in the media thats white owned but trys to be all down with the hood. pretendig Hip-Hop is'nt as huge as it is by cutting back on rap city (which is 80% commercials anyway). See these house niggas that are hired to run BET think Hip-Hop is going to hurt their position somehow and their tryna' faze it out. But the cowards have the nerve to want to make money off Hip-Hop as they kill it! We all know AIDS is an important issue but the endless commercials about it on BET make me think they really want "minorities" to wear condoms to keep our population down. They never said "get tested" til recently. Hopefully, "TV one" will offer better.They have'nt shown much variety or an intrest in Hip-Hop but we'll see. If you have Comcast, there's all kind of Hip-Hop programing like QD3's shows, DoD. H2O etc.
