Even though I swore last year I would never watch BET again, I was channel-surfing and caught that shit.

I really doubt Daz is gonna cross over.  If "Cali Iz Active" couldn't cross over with Snoop Dogg's support, then "So So Gangsta" won't do any better with JD behind it - shit, isn't it obvious Snoop's name has more marketing pull than JD's?  It's cool Daz got a new shot at the majors, but cuzz is still a washed-up has-been of the Death Row era.
Couldn't agree more.

True, but so far, So So Gangsta sounds pretty good. Cali Iz Active didn't cross over because it was wack apart from the Soopafly beats.

The Soopafly beats weren't any better than any of the others on the record.  "Cali Iz Active" had plenty of big-name guests and producers - Swizzy, Diddy, David Banner, Paul Wall, Cube, and of course Snoop himself on like 6 tracks.  But it couldn't really break into the mainstream regardless.

I'll wait to hear "So So Gangsta" before I pass judgment - I hated "It's My Thang", but I thought "On Some Real Shit" was pretty good.  Regardless, though, I just don't see what crossover potential Daz could possibly have.  Maybe I'm wrong, but I kinda doubt it.

I see what you mean, and the realistic outcome is that So So Gangsta flops. However, on what I've heard so far, it seems that Daz's album deserves a little commercial success moreso than CIA.

I disagree, daz is now on a major as compared to the dogg pound which was just on koch. A major means better advertising, more video play, more radio play and better promotion = more sales.
