The 7th of July is shrouded in murkiness and contradictions, too much of what happened doesnt add up but yes your right the actual actions themselves were horrific. Digital my previous post was really related to the reaction of people automatically assuming that this was a genuine threat, I just think until all of the details emerge that the tendency to assume that this is what it is being hyped as should perhaps be tempered.

Don't worry I know what you mean; there's always a tendency for knee-jerk reactions when things like this happen. But this still appears to be result of weeks of surveillance.
Funnily there was talk on the news two nights ago about MI5 being overstretched and unable to monitor all the terror suspects in the UK and suddenly this happens overnight. Oh and guess what, hardly a single mention about Israel's push into Southern Lebanon on the news this morning.

its on hold till the weekend in case the UN agrees on something

It's always the timing of these things always so coincidental I feel. Well I am not going to come out and rubbish this one until I have heard and read more details about the case itself. Like you said you though regardless of the situation it will mean that the escalating crisis in the middle east gets pushed to one side and now they can let everyone let those good old israelis continue stealing more land and wiping out more lebanese. What a beautiful country we both live in where on the one hand Tony Blair puts on hjis mournful regretful face and is so desperate to broker a peace deal and on the other hand he said during an interview with the telegraph last year "the fact is that if we didn't sell aircraft to israel then another country would" what a convincing moral argument that is. The same man who sells state of the art military weapins which are being used to "bomb gaza back to the stone age" is the same man who is condemning hezbollah for firing rockets at army barracks. Well I should retract a bit of that this is a beautiful country but its being run by a person with no sense of humanity he is just a twisted actor.
Don I never suggested that it should not be fully investigated on the contray it should definitely be fully investigated and it should be open, unlike the dismissal of people calling for a public enquiry for the july 7th bombing. Using their own rhetoric why do you they resist this? nothing to hide nothing to fear after all.

I hear what you're saying Don, all the headlines say 'Israeli Offensive on Hold' but Israel has actually pushed tanks into Southern Lebanon to seize a town.
What the story basically is, "We've pushed into Lebanon a bit more, but this ain't the wider offensive we talked about the other day".
BTW, the story about the seizure of a Southern Lebanese town has just disappeared from the BBC website ??? It's still on Reuters though: http://today.reuters.co.uk/news/articlenews.aspx?type=worldNews&storyid=2006-08-10T121030Z_01_L09470744_RTRUKOC_0_UK-MIDEAST.xml&src=rss
