It's crazy how Lil Jon is having alot to do with 40 and Cube's success. And with Too Short coming out soon Jon is hooking up with all the west coast vets. It's time for Cube to come out with a 3rd single.

Lil' Jon's been working with West Coast artists for a lot longer than most people that post on this board know about.

Too Short's been working with him since '99 and Short Dog was on Jon's first single that gained some attention ("Bia Bia").  E-40 started working with Lil' Jon since 2001 and Lil' Jon produced "Rep yo City", which got a lot of attention.  Lil' Jon was doing tracks for Hoo' Bangin' in 2002, so he's prolly known Cube since around then.

I know for a fact that Lil' Jon (and Jazze Pha) have given credit Too Short credit for giving them shine early on.  So for 40 and Short to be working exclusively with Lil' Jon recently is just doing a favor for a favor.  The Bay gave Lil' Jon a chanec at the beginning, and now that Lil' Jon is a household name, he's giving back to those who helped him.

actually Lil Jon started working with Short in 96 on the Gettin It album.

damn, Cube AND 40 goin gold at the same time.  "U and Dat" is pickin' up more and more spins, I'm starting to hear the shit on mainstream stations now, so hopefully it'll boost it up to Gold shortly

Actually, its chart position is already falling.  Its peak was at #18, and I don't anticipate it doing much better.  Looks like it's time for another single now...

saw a promo CDS floating around for "White Gurl", although dunno if it's legit or a bootleg

Soopa was flowin on that song. Daz recycled some lyrics on there but Short was killing me on that song. "you can't tell me shit, fuck that"
"you just a fine ass bitch with nut breath"  ;D

No, not at all. I understand he dumbed down his lyrics quite a bit for this though, and for that reason this album left rotation months ago. There is very little playback value on this CD. It's excused because 40 kinda had to do it, to get the Bay some exposure. I'd even go so far to say that this is his secnd worst CD ( Breaking News wasn't as good as this ), but I respect that he got his plaque, shut the haters up, and exposed his region.

Yeah it is sad that creativity is gone in hip hop. Artists for the most part cannot make their own album the way they want. This has to sound like that and this album sold this so let me do this. It is really killing rap right now. Record labels and rappers do not want to go against the grain anymore. 40's situation like phillyboy said is different. He did his for the Bay to get that exposure back and it looked like at first it was not going to work.
