Eminem burns house despite protests

A film crew shooting Eminem's upcoming movie set fire to a Detroit-area house despite protests from residents. A monthlong arson spree earlier this year that left several burned out homes in Highland Park was the main reason locals were opposed to filming the scene for "8 Mile," the semi-autobiographical movie starring Eminem, Kim Basinger and Brittany Murphy. However, the film company agreed to spend $20,000 to demolish the abandoned house as well as two others and promised to also make a donation to the neighborhood. The producers contended that the scene was critical to the film because it signifies the point at which the main character decides to turn his life around.

u know i relly don't get some ppl...it's the same when they protest about trees...if someone has planning permission to bulldoze a woods to build a third runway (manchester airport) then the ppl should accept that and accept that the council and the buildaz don't give a fuck about treez, and let them go ahead build it...they only protest for publicity!

i'll get back to the point...they won't have been allowed to just burn down the houses...they would have had to get permission from the council...the council would send someone out to make sure it was safe to do it...and then tell them whether they could or not (well they would in this country anyway)

if it would harm someone...like the smoke and fumes...they would not let them go ahead with it...so they have had permission to torch the place...why don't they accept that and let them do it...why do they go fuckin' protesting?? publicity stunt...thats what it is!

the reason i mention manchester airport is because there were thousands of arrests made cuz of ppl protesting about the woods being bulldozed, but in the end they made the fuckin runway anyway...so the protesterz had to spend 2 days in jail...waste a week of their lives in the out in the cold...and they still fuckin bulldozed the fucker in the end anyway...and if our PM told us tomorrow that we were joining the euro currency thing...no matter how many ppl disagreed,  it would go ahead anywayz...

and back to the point i am making...whether they liked it or not...no matter how much protesting...it still went ahead!! waste of time...the fil co should not have to pay out to the neighbourhood when they had the permission there in the first place....but i see they soon agreed to it when money was headed their direction!
