Denmark gives the most amount of its GDP (1.01%) to developing countries; Norway gives 0.91%; the Netherlands give 0.79% and so on until the end of list, where the USA sits. Yes, America ranks DEAD LAST in foreign aid at a pathetic 0.1% of its GDP, compared to the other 21 nations listed as developed nations. The idea that the US government is a heroic bunch that runs around the world helping the poor and the disempowered is not backed up by the evidence. We have one of the stingiest governments on earth.

So yes, congrats to those countries for giving approximately 1% of their GDP.  However, to say that US is stingy and pathetic when it comes to philanthropy is fucking retarded.  The US gave over $12 BILLION (read that again) for humanitarian efforts.  Norway and Denmark are approximately $10 BILLION (read that again) BEHIND the US. 

I liked the first myth.  The rest was somewhat deluded.  Statistics don't lie, but anyone could just as easily compile rankings that would show the US is the best at numerous things in the world.  The author goes out of their way to paint things in as bad a light as possible.  Again, there are some valid points in there and some interesting stuff but lets keep it real instead of over dramatizing just to shoot for effect.
