Def Jam Records Looking For A Problem?! (Exclusive News Update)
September 7, 2006 by Styles

Jason "Problem" Martin is a name that you've seen heavily on WCR for about a year and a half now. When he first appeared on these pages only a handful of people knew about him and certainly nobody on the Internet, yet upon hearing those early tracks we knew we had come across something special that was developing and it was something that we as a website decided to get behind. It was an opportunity that ended up shaping a big part of our philosophy and vision for the West Coast, and that opportunity was having a talented unknown young artist develop on WCR from the early early stages of his career to being record-deal ready right before your eyes.

I am proud to announce that one of the most important record labels in the history of Hip Hop is in serious talks with our young Compton future star. Recently a rep from Def Jam flew out from New York just to personally sit down with Problem at his home out in Compton. Shortly Problem will be headed out East to New York to continue the meetings. Will he find a home in Def Jam? Who knows but he will find a home and whoever he ends up with will have a good Problem on their hands. Whoever misses out will have a bad problem to deal with.

As things get more interesting I will let you know in the right time of course....as for now keep supporting the young hopeful stars and know that when you hear New West its not a disrespect to the already established artists but a rallying of a new generation readying themselves to conquer the world.
