My prediction for rap in the next 5 years.

here wil be more major independent labels after artists on major labels get dropped and released from thier contracts. major labels will focus more and more on big poppy acts poppy r&b and rock groups. the folks that can make hot songs but arent verry marketable will go indie and make bread.

hows that sound?

Change rap for all music and you're on point.

hip hop will continue to lose it's power within the industry. people like to pretendthat hip hop is this almighty music force but it's a dwindling genre. if it wasn't for smart product maketing hip hop would have been done for already.

i think people will get tired of that club-shit, it's just a fade. They will probably turn to other fades and ceo's of labels will try to market original nerd rappers like lupe fiasco and kanye west to appeal to the people that dont really are into hip hop. The underground will always be there though so i doesn't matter to me what will happen 50 cent fat joe mike jones

Underground Hip-Hop managed to survive during the late 90's before all the club shit so I'm pretty sure that it'll still have true followers when the suburban kids get fed up of the club bangers.

Hopefully all the bitch ass people that listen to hip-hop to feel hard will go back to their disco roots, and give it back to us.
