And the west did'nt play out because of lack of intrest, the west was played out by the companies that were scared of the west. They was like "them cats is really gangsters" not just fake rappin about it. And the good ones like Dafari and Souls of mischief dont get heard as a result.

LOL, that's some retarded shit, homie.  If the record companies were really afraid that some of them were really gangstas, why did they continue to support Dre, Snoop, posthumous Pac albums, Xzibit, WC at one point (when he was on Def Jam), and more recently Game?  West Coast rap got even MORE gangsta in the late-90s, not less, with cats starting to rep their sets on wax and C-walkin in their videos.  So why support only SOME rappers and not others?  Makes no fuckin sense.  No, the record labels would have kept supporting the other West Coast cats if (unlike the artists I mentioned above) they believed they could still make money off them.

Pac's death definitely gave the West a bad image, but the fact is, people DID get tired of the West.  Everyone in '96 was complaining about how much everything sounded like G-Funk by that point.  But image alone doesn't do shit...record labels could have been happy to keep exploiting the G-Funk sound all the way to today if it lasted that long.

Also, you forget that Souls of Mischief was signed to a major label (Jive) at one point.

None of those people you mentioned are gangsters. They scared of people like Big Suge

How can you be scared of somebody who's broke as fuck and always in prison?  Snoop and Dre can afford to make Suge kiss their asses if they want to.

90% of West Coast rappers aren't really gangsters, anyway.  They just start hanging with the homies from their old hoods and claim the set even tho they ain't really on it.

I will believe it when I see it. The feds and Harry O are watching Suge like a hawk. If he does put some artists out he is losing that money.

You been following the news lately?  He filed for bankruptcy a while ago now.  The news reported his account had about $11 left.

He ain't putting out anyone's record anytime soon, and if all them cats have sense, they'll abandon ship and get to other labels instead of trusting Suge with their careers.

Banckruptcy does'nt always mean you're broke. It means that you're being overwhealmed by creditors and you need them to back off. The downside is it really fucks your credit.

I know what the fuck it means.  But as long as that is the case, Suge is most definitely not going to be putting out anyone's albums.

I blame it on Bush. Raising these gas prices and got the nerve to talk about taking overtime away on jobs. Yeah, it's his fault. i had money to buy albums when Clinton was in office.   :D
