The internet has killed hip hop?  Get the fuck outta here.  I bet if I checked the VAST majority of albums I have purchased in about the last 6 years, about 90% of it would be from artists that I was exposed through via the internet, not bullshit that I herad on MTV / BET / terrestrial radio.

The internet is the only way I can learn about any kind of hip hop I really care about.  For instance, as I've said a thousand times, I'm copping AZ's new joint on November 7th.  Well guess what?  Without the internet, I wouldn't even know that he would have even realeased any albums in the past 5 years cuz you sure as shit don't hear his music played in mainstream media outlets.

Hip Hop sales are down cuz the vast majority of the shit played mainstream is exactly that - SHIT.  Corporate monopolies, payola, lack of originality, and music executives that have NO business dictating how music should sound are the reasons that sales are down.
