last year:Eminem Feat. Nate Dogg - Shake Thatthis year:Eminem Feat. Akon - Smack ThatIt's official, Eminem even co-signs.
Akon's a decent artist, but he's no where in the league of hooks as Nate. Nate has found his niche as that guy for hooks in rap songs. Akon's never gonna take the crown, people are just using him now because he's not afraid to say "fuck" like most of these other gay R&B singers. Notice how the ones who actually say raw, explicit shit (Nate, R Kelly, TQ, Butch Cassidy, Joe sometimes, and now Akon) get hired for hooks on already dirty rap songs. It only makes sense. Also, Akon has the added benefit of being a producer, so people will go to him for a snog, and he can jump on the hook just as easily.
Akon is for the bitches.
I've been listening to Akon a lot the past few days. I'm starting to like this guy.
^Nate never made it big because he lacks good looks, charisma, producer-skills.
