Summary:
Microsoft is ready to fight and, as long it can get its first-party games in order, the Washington-based publisher will strike hard and regularly with top-notch games, great online services, and tons of updates to its hardware along the way. Sure Microsoft could flub it all up between now and next fall, but if its last six months are an indicator, we see blue skies and green grasses on the horizon.

Future Potential Rating: 9

Overall Summary:
Regardless of how well Sony or Nintendo do, Microsoft has established clear, ambitious goals that it's striding toward and hitting. With Gears of War out and selling well, Rare's third game in one full year on the market, and more than a handful of exclusives coming down the pipe, Microsoft has got the games. It's got the online set-up, too. Xbox Live Arcade is well under way, but Microsoft has got to publish more games like Cloning Clyde, Geometry Wars Evolved and Small Arms to get that system-in-a-system to live up to its potential. The publisher has launched in brand new console markets like India and it's well ahead of Sony and Nintendo in this leg-race, with nearly 10 million units already sold. So it's on track to establish great brand presence and new markets to plunder. Does it really matter to the average gamer if Microsoft beats Sony or Nintendo in marketshare? Not really. What matters is that you get great games on a regular basis that are exclusive to the console. What matters is that online gaming is expanded, genres are explored and pushed, and that the system provides superb new gaming experiences not available in previous generations. With Xbox 360, Microsoft is well on its to making it all happen.

Overall Score: 8

yep, microsoft's aggressiveness is insane... it was always gonna happen though, with the amount of backing/knowledge they have it would be sad if they couldnt reach their goals.
