Tom Hanks and Mel Gibson don't get the 'artistic' respect they deserve because they're so commercially successful. Hanks' catalog of Forrest Gump, Philidelphia, and the Green Mile stand up to anything Penn has done, and Mel Gibson has shown incredible talent in almost everything he's done.
